As a Residential Property Paralegal, you will assist the Conveyancer with all aspects of residential property conveyancing including maintaining meticulous records and accounts. Your role will involve effective communication with clients via email and telephone, handling client enquiries, and preparing and submitting SDLT Returns and HM Land Registry applications. You will review title and property documents, prepare contract packs, conduct research, and manage various administrative tasks.

The Ideal Candidate 
We are seeking candidates with a strong academic background, including GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics. Proficiency in IT, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, is essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, and a team-oriented mindset with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy are also required. Previous experience in supporting fee earners on all aspects of Residential Property conveyancing matters would be advantageous.

About the role 
We have an exciting opening for a qualified Management Account to join our team at Fishers Solicitors and to head up the finance and operations teams. The role is 35 hours a week, 9 – 5, Monday to Friday and has the added perk of hybrid working. 
Main responsibilities: 
• Month end processes including journals, accruals & prepayments, nominal analysis, balance sheet review; 
• Preparation of management account packs for partners meetings; 
• Producing, reviewing & updating monthly / yearly cashflow forecast; 
• Preparing budgets for all departments including fee earner targets; 
• Producing regular fee earner analysis and ensuring file reviews are completed; 
• Processing monthly payroll and managing the firm’s pension scheme submissions; 
• Ensuring the firm's accounting policies, procedures and systems are compliant with SRA accounts rules; 
• Supervising and covering for legal cashiers, and providing technical support on complex cashiering queries;

• Assisting COLP with compliance duties including updating financial policies; 
• Other duties requested by the Directors from time to time, within the remit of this role. 
Skills, qualifications and experience 
Interested applicants should have: 
• Management Accountant experience with a relevant qualification; 
• Previous experience of working in a law firm with knowledge of SRA rules and SAR’s (preferred); 
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail; 
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines; 
• High level of confidentiality; 
• Experience of managing/supervising a team together with an ability to work well as part of a team and independently;

About the role 
We have an exciting opening for an experienced Family Lawyer to join our team at Fishers Solicitors from March 2025 in a senior role. 
This is currently a standalone position, but with our recent expansion into Derby, we hope that the department will grow in line with the firm’s strategic plans. 
Working 35 hours a week, 9 – 5, we offer fee earners the option of hybrid working, with up to 3 days working from home each week, and the successful candidate can be based at either Ashby or Derby branch (candidates who would prefer to be based at the Derby office would need to be willing to attend the Ashby office regularly in order to integrate within the firm as well as for attending team meetings and client appointments 
Main responsibilities: 
• Handling a varied caseload of family matters include divorce, financial and property disputes, child-related disputes, cohabitee disputes, domestic abuse work and preparation of legal agreements including separation agreements, cohabitation agreements, pre and post nuptial agreements and change of name deeds 
• Ensuring that all client work is progressed in a timely manner and that the client is kept informed throughout, delivering exceptional customer service 
• Reporting on the nature and progress of work at departmental meetings and at 1:1’s with the line manger. 
• Compliance with all file and case management quality standards as laid down in the office manual, and in accordance with the Law Society requirements 
• Assisting the Business Development Executive in promoting the department and assisting with the firm’s marketing initiatives 
• Networking with other professionals and contacts, both individually and as part of a team 
• Diligent and accurate use of the firm’s case management system 
• Making files available on a monthly basis for review 
• Undertaking any relevant training as and when required, and comply with the Law Society CPD requirements. 
Skills, qualifications and experience 
Interested applicants should be either: 
• A qualified Solicitor or Fellow of CILEX with a minimum of 12 years PQE; 
• Experience in dealing with a variety of family law matters; 
• The ability to handle a varied caseload with minimal supervision;
